Dave was born in Washington DC and raised in the Chesapeake Bay area. His first memory of boats was a place called The Old Wharf in South West Washington DC. His dad would take the family there on Sunday's for fresh seafood, and to watch the shrimp and oyster boats come up the Potomac River by way of Chesapeake Bay. He knew then that boats were going to be a big part of his life. Most summers were spent on the Chesapeake Bay at the family's beach cottage; spending many days fishing and crabbing for Big Blue Claw Crabs.
His first boat was 37' and was built in 1937 on the Eastern shore of Maryland. That would be his home for the next several years, where his daughter and he fished every inch of the Bay.
In 1980 Dave accepted a position with the Edison Company in Southern California. He purchased a new fishing boat which he kept in the Dana Point Harbor. In 1982 he met his wife Brenda an together they have fished and cruised from Catalina Island to Ensenada, Mexico. In addition, he enjoys spending time with wife Brenda and his stepson Jamie, who is currently on the coaching staff for the USA Men's Volleyball Team. My favorite place to fish and relax is Xihuatanejo Bay, Mexico.
In 1996, with 36 years of electrical experience, he retired and started his own business, "Yacht Ready Consultants." Working with Dick Simon Yachts, specializing in sport fishing yachts, was a natural fit for Dave. Dick Simon Yachts is pleased to be working together with Dave to fill all our clients boating needs.
